For thousands of years Yoga has been a structure of philosophy and physical practice.   As such, it can be complementary to one’s own religious background.   In this workshop we will explore Yoga as asana (physical postures), meditation, and philosophy as it applies to Christianity and other religions.   We will explore the transformative power of the body/mind/spirit connection and the principles practiced to encourage peace in the body and the greater world.  A bibliography will be provided before the retreat to enhance our discussion.

Laurice D. Nemetz, MA, ADTR, E-RYT, LCAT, works as a yoga teacher and dance/movement therapist in Westchester County in New York. As a therapist, she has worked with older persons, children with special needs and 9/11 survivors. Current President of the Yoga Teachers’ Association of NY.  She has published several articles on dance/movement therapy and yoga and appears in a new book entitled, Creative Arts Therapies Manual. She also enjoys creating art and music, and is a mother to two boys who enjoy practicing yoga too!
