November 18-20, 2008

Tues 6:30 dinner thru Thur lunch
Program $135 + Room/Board $175

After the fall colors fade and the holiday season is about to arrive, come to Kirkridge for a time of renewal as we reflect on seeking and receiving blessings, and bringing the blessings home.  Time as a group for worship, prayer, and sharing will be complemented by free time to explore the labyrinth, woodland trails, or a good book – or to do nothing at all.   Participants will have options to be in silence for part of the retreat to nurture their attentiveness to the Spirit.  This retreat is offered for those who hunger for a time of simple presence for God before the busyness of the Thanksgiving-Christmas season, particularly for persons who can attend mid-week rather than on weekends.  Retreat leader Rozanne Oliver is called to nurture spiritual growth in ecumenical settings.  She recently completed the Shalem Institute Leading Contemplative Prayer and Retreat program.

Rozanne Oliver has focused her energies on a call to prayer and retreat leadership since retiring in 2006.  During a thirty-five year career, mainly with the U.S. Department of State, she worked on issues including nonproliferation, refugee assistance, and international trade.  She recently completed the Leading Contemplative Prayer Groups and Silent Retreat extended program with the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation.  However, her interest and engagement in Christian education and spiritual formation developed  and grew during a twenty-five-year affiliation with the Seekers Church, part of the ecumenical Church of the Savior community in Washington, D.C.  She currently is a member of a United Methodist congregation in Arlington, Virginia.  Her favorite pastime is gardening, particularly as a Master Gardener volunteer.  She and husband Bob Bayer have a young adult son.
