Songwriters, poetry, and prose writers of all experience levels are welcome to explore writing in this workshop. It focuses on the power, value, and healing in telling our stories from our authentic voices and everyday experiences. Carrie Has presented this workshop in spiritual and secular settings throughout the United States. This class is presented in a safe, and nurturing context.

Carrie Newcomer has been described as “a soaring songstress” by Billboard a “prairie mystic” by the Boston Globe and one of the definitive voices of the Heartland and progressive spirituality, Carrie recently released her twelfth album on Rounder Records, Before and After.  She has toured with Alison Krauss Europe and the U.S. Nickel Creek recorded Newcomer’s song “I Should’ve Known Better”, on their Grammy-winning album This Side. She has facilitated workshops on the topics of writing and spirituality, vocation and activism workshops at colleges, universities, and spiritual communities and retreat centers.   In the fall of 2010 Newcomer was a cultural ambassador to India invited by the American Embassy of India to tour the country performing for Indian audiences and visiting community services organizations.
