Christianity Beyond the Boundaries of Institutional Theology
Michael Morwood
October 22-24, 2010
Fri 6:30 dinner thru Sun lunch
Program $325
From the first decades of its beginning the Christian religion has wrestled with competing theologies about God and Jesus. Inevitably, the salvation theology that gave identity and authority to institutional Christianity won the day and has dominated Christian thought and practice for two thousand years. Now, what gave stability for so long is perceived to have been built on shifting sands. What are solid foundations on which Christianity should and could stand in the 21st century and beyond?

Michael Morwood has over 30 years experience in retreat, education, parish and youth ministries in Australia and has authored several books. He leads Christians to examine what they believe and why they believe it, what they imagine and why they imagine it, and how to articulate faith in Jesus with a contemporary understanding of our universe. Michael was a member of Missionaries of the Sacred Heart for 38 years, 29 years in priestly ministry. He has an MA in Pastoral Ministry. Following the banning of his book, Tomorrows Catholic, and his silencing by Archbishop George Pell in Melbourne in 1998, he resigned religious life and priestly ministry and later married.
