Creating a Culture of Peace
Creating a Culture of Peace, or CCP, the national nonviolence training program, is ready to transition from Kirkridge in order to expand and fully realize its important mission of transforming people, communities, and cultures. Senior CCP Facilitators have formed a new Board of Directors committed to developing and promoting the program as a non-profit organization in its own right. They have asked me to serve as the full-time Executive Director. Our new office will be located in the Minneapolis area.
During my time at Kirkridge as Peace and Justice Coordinator, I have arranged retreats and mounted a dramatic and inspiring pilgrimage to meet peacemakers in a region of conflict, the Holy Land. I worked to link Kirkridge with national peace events, new organizations and thousands of individuals new to Kirkridge through CCP trainings on the mountain and across the country, and through my presentations and writings. I hope that all these efforts have increased Kirkridge income, outreach, activity and visibility in areas consistent with the Kirkridge mission. I and the 250 facilitators I trained and coordinate have helped empower hundreds of people in spiritually-grounded, active nonviolence principles and project planning.
The CCP Board and I want to express our deep gratitude for the support of Kirkridge. Kirkridge has provided an environment where CCP could begin to realize its potential and supported a transformative movement that can be part of healing our world. We look forward to collaborating in the future.
My passion for peace and justice work continues to grow.
